Medigap Plan F

Medigap Plan F, like all Medigap plans, is a Medicare Supplement plan that fills in the gaps that Original Medicare leaves. Medigap Plan F is the most comprehensive of all Medigap plans. Which is probably why Medigap Plan F is by far the most popular Medigap plan purchased by seniors 65 and over. The following is covered by Plan F, if it is approved by Medicare:

  • Additional 365 days of hospitalization
  • 100% of Part A hospitalization coinsurance

  • 100% of Part A & B deductible
  • 100% Part B excess charges
  • 100% Part B coinsurance
  • 100% of first 3 pints of blood for a transfusion
  • Nationwide coverage at any participating Medicare healthcare provider

  • Largest network of doctors and hospitals in country

What is Medigap Plan F Select?

The Medigap Plan F Select offers the same benefits as above EXCEPT for nationwide coverage, because of the small network that this plan offers. With Medigap Select F, you usually can see any doctor that accepts Medicare assignment, but you have a limited network of hospitals and facilities you can use. If you go outside of your Select network, Medigap is not responsible to cover your costs (except in case of emergency).

The major benefit of Medigap Plan F Select is its premium is generally less expensive than traditional Plan F’s.

Medigap Plan F Select is not offered in all areas.
