Can I Switch Medicare Advantage Plans?

Switching Medicare Advantage plans is easy. There are three ways to switch your plan.

1) Switch Your MA Plan in 1st 12 Months

If you don’t like your Medicare Advantage plan within the first 12 months of choosing the plan, you can choose to enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan, aka Medigap, or just go back to Original Medicare.

2) Switch Medicare Advantage During Open Enrollment

Every year you can change your Medicare Advantage provider during open enrollment: October 15 -December 7.

3) Switch Your MA Plan for a 5 Star Plan

There is a little known fact that if you are dissatisfied with your Medicare Advantage plan you are able to switch any time in the year to a plan in your area with a 5-star rated Medicare Advantage plan.
