Anthem Blue Cross of California is offering a 12 month “new to Medicare” premium discount on their Plan G, Medigap Plan  F and the Medigap Innovative Plan F. You must meet a few qualifications -we’ll explain below.

Anthem CA Medigap Discount Qualifications

To be eligible for a $25 a month Anthem Blue Cross Medigap discount (for a 12 month period, after will return to normal rate) you must meet the following criteria:

  • Enroll in Medigap G
  • Start your Medigap coverage within 6 months of your Medicare Part B effective date

Those who enroll in Medigap Plan F or Innovative Plan F, will receive $20 off a year.  Note:

This discount does not apply to those already enrolled in an Anthem Blue Cross Medigap plan or for those who are 65 and over and have been enrolled in Medicare Part B for more than 6 months (if you had Medicare before you turned 65, and are turning 65, you should be able to enroll with a discount).

Other Anthem CA Medigap Discounts Apply

You can apply this $25 a month discount to any other Medigap discount you qualify from Anthem Blue Cross CA, such as an automatic payment discount ($2 off a month) or household discount (up to 10% off each).

Anthem Household Discount

If you live with someone that has a Medicare Supplement plan with us, that individual’s discount is based on their original coverage effective date. Members with an original coverage effective date on or after March 1, 2023 will receive a 10 percent Household Discount. Members with an original coverage effective date between June 1, 2010, and February 28, 2023, will receive a 5 percent Household
Discount. To be eligible, individuals must occupy the same household. A household does not include assisted living facilities, retirement communities, group homes, senior-only apartment complexes, nursing home or any other health residential facilities. You may be required to provide additional documentation to verify eligibility.
